With a Mac, you can use Time
Machine, which is probably the most convenient back up program available.
However, if you are on Windows 8, the backup process is little harder to
streamline. If
you should ever need to restore your files, you’ll need to come back to the
Control Panel.
Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 users concerned about
third-party software compatibility or system corruption may want a little
insurance with an image backup solution. So if you used your internal hard
drive to system backup windows 10 of your Windows 8.1 operating system you can now
transfer it to your very own USB stick and free up some space for other stuff.
You will also need to make sure that any other backup
solutions are uninstalled from the protected system, as they can cause
conflicts and failures with our backup solution. ShadowMaker is a 70MB
download, and installs with just one process running in the background—its
scheduler.

The default setting for ShadowMaker is to backup files on an
hourly basis. A different time schedule can be selected, though. The options
available in this regard include after every 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes to every 1,
3, 6, 12, 24 hours. In order to create a windows 10 image backup, you
must log on to the computer with administrator account.
Other features include variable compression, email alerts and
notifications, the choice of backing up only used sectors or all of them and
shutting down the computer after the backup. As to the pay
version, I’d wait a couple of dot upgrades to make sure the performance and
stability issues have been corrected.
